Allan Conney, Ph.D.



Dr. Conney is the New Jersey Professor of Chemical Biology and Garbe Professor of Leukemia and Cancer Research at Rutgers. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences (U.S.A.) and an Associate Editor of Cancer Research.

Mechanisms of carcinogenesis and mechanisms of cancer prevention by chemoprevention agents and exercise; factors influencing the metabolism and action of drugs, carcinogens, environmental chemicals and steroid hormones; regulation and biological significance of multiple cytochromes P-450; drug interactions; induced synthesis of microsomal enzymes; anticancer properties of the phorbol ester 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA)
