Dr. Fiedler
performs controlled human exposure studies
in which she investigates health effects
models incorporating environmental chemical
exposures and psychological stress. These
studies are innovative in their approach to
model the exposures and health effects that
occur in the natural human environment. She
also investigates toxic encephalopathy among
workers chronically exposed to solvents and
lead. These epidemiologic studies
incorporate neuropsychological testing,
exposure assessment, and functional imaging
to determine chronic health effects. Dr.
Fiedler’s more recent collaborations include
translational research to examine whether
alteration in HPA axis function among lead
exposed animals translates to humans
chronically exposed to lead. |
