Robert Laumbach, MD, MPH

Research Interests:
Robert Laumbach MD, MPH, CIH is an Occupational and Environmental Physician and Industrial Hygienist who studies the health effects of air pollutants in the indoor and outdoor environments.  Areas of particular interest include diesel exhaust and other air pollutants such as mold and other bioaerosols, silica, asbestos, nanoparticles and nanomaterials, and chemical contaminants including organic solvents such as benzene.  Research goals include basic understanding of toxic mechanisms and development of biomarkers of exposure and health effects.  Research methods include epidemiological field studies, controlled exposure studies, and translational and integrative research utilizing animal models.
