Dr. Gedi Mainelis is an aerosol scientist focusing on biological aerosols and exposure assessment. The main interests of his research include development of bioaerosol sampling, control, and generation methods; investigation of aerosol and bioaerosol monitors’ performance; exposure assessment; and analysis of exposure and health effects of nanoparticles. His resent work on bioaerosol samplers focused on the application on electrostatic collection techniques for biological aerosols. This involved analysis of charge and voltage effects on the viability of microorganisms in the airborne state as well as design of a new sampler. His current projects are focused on the performance analysis of portable samplers for biological aerosols as well as on a development of a conceptually new bioaerosol sampler. |
